The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is a non-profit educational organization devoted to the research and re-creation of pre-17th century skills, arts, combat, and culture.

Chatelaine of the Kingdom of Meridies

We are the Kingdom of Meridies, a regional group within the SCA that includes much of the southeastern United States. Most local groups have an officer called a “chatelaine” whose job is help new participants find their way in the SCA. They can also provide you with loaner clothing for your first event. Each SCA member remembers the day they started, and most people are happy to help out a newcomer.

What can you do in the SCA?

Combat, archery, equestrian activities, costuming, cooking, metalwork, woodworking, music, dance, calligraphy, fiber arts, and much more. If it was done in the Middle Ages or Renaissance, odds are you’ll find someone in the SCA interested in recreating it.
